NHBC’s Pride in the Job celebrates site managers who demonstrate excellence and commitment to producing homes of outstanding quality and is the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry. More than 250 judges across the UK apply a robust and meticulous judging process to around 16,000 sites across the UK. So, it’s no easy competition!
After completing the development of 9 individual character homes in the popular village of Lytchett Matravers, Dorset; NHBC judges awarded Andy Burke of AMB Developments Ltd the Pride in the Job 2018 ‘Seal of Excellence Award’. This was a great achievement and testament to everything Andy strives for in any development and also won him the opportunity to compete for the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Regional Awards.
Following additional site visits from NHBC judges, Andy successfully made it through three further highly competitive rounds; beating 16 other Seal of Excellence Winners across the South West to be awarded the Regional WINNER (South West) in the Small Builder category. Andy picked up his award at the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job ceremony held at the Passenger Shed in Bristol on Friday 21st September.
‘Chequers Place’ in the village of Lytchett Matravers is an exquisite development of just nine high quality 3 & 4 bedroomed luxury homes. Built using traditional methods in keeping with the character of the village, they complement the surrounding properties and countryside well.

So, to win both the NHBC Seal of Excellence Award and then go to be awarded the Regional Award WINNER (South West) in the Small Builder category was a huge achievement and true demonstration of the exceptional high standards of building and attention to detail we pride ourselves on.
